Description

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support our initiatives focused on securing sensitive information and maintaining compliance within our corporate structure. The Corporate ISSO will be instrumental in developing and implementing security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems.

The role will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and industry best practices. This position is based at our headquarters in Lexington Park, MD.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the information security program for corporate systems and assets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and security gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, such as NIST, FISMA, and DoD standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on security best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts and lead investigations for security incidents.
  • Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees to enhance the organization's security culture.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to security across all platforms.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate security posture, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.

Education/Experience: An associate degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in information security or related IT roles, preferably in a mid-sized organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of security frameworks, risk management practices, and incident response procedures, with hands-on experience using tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, encryption, MFA, and vulnerability scanners. They must demonstrate exceptional communication skills to effectively explain security concepts to non-technical audiences, exercise integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive information, and collaborate across departments to promote and influence security best practices.

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH) preferred.

Security Clearance: An active security clearance is not required to start; however, the selected applicant may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000.
