Under the direction of the Manager of Maintenance Training,the Maintenance of Way Training Administrationplays a pivotal role in the Workforce Technical Training Department. This position administers, design, delivers, and evaluates Maintenance of Way training programs. This position will be responsible for providing on-going strategic guidance, operational support, and a resource in developing and deploying the Maintenance of Way training programs. In conjunction with Maintenance of Way Management, design, develop, implement, and maintain FRA regulatory training programs. Develop and implement maintenance orientation, including CDL prep training. Assists Maintenance of Way Management in establishing standard operating procedures and best practices. Serves on a variety of project teams and committees. Manages staff by developing goals, monitoring progress, and evaluating performance. In coordination with Training or Service Unit Managers, assists in the development and management maintenance training budget.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Education, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • Four years' experience in rail transportation maintenance, including a thorough working knowledge of Maintenance of Way systems, (e.g., electrical, track switching, signal maintenance, etc.). Two years' experience in supervision and/or two years in a regulatory training environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in training to include curriculum development, team development and leadership. Must have excellent writing skills, project coordination, coaching, and supervision skills. Basic understanding of diagnostic computer software, when applicable. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong presentation and public speaking abilities. Good project and time management skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL.
Knowledge:
  • FRA and GCOR knowledge preferred.
  • Principles of leadership, supervision, training, motivation, and coaching.
  • Working knowledge of training program design and implementation
  • Must be proficient with Learning Management Systems (e.g. SumTotal) and administration, and Content Authoring Tools (e.g. Adobe Captivate).

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office software proficiency at the intermediate level in all of the following: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept in applying adult learning theory and coaching concepts in curriculum design and coaching.
  • Experience analyzing effectiveness of training through data and implementing changes after analyzing the data.
Abilities:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Roadway Worker Protection, Blue Flag, Forklift, Overhead Crane and other certifications as required.

PayRange: $80,800.00 or more depending on experience.
