The Commercial Cook - Food Prep Worker is responsible for preparing food for daily distribution by following pre-defined recipes and menus while meeting timebound requirements and adhering to food safety standards and specifications at our St. Petersburg location. This role involves packing and portioning food according to menu specifications, assisting with clean-up, storage, required recordkeeping, and performing other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will embrace the company’s values, vision, and mission as One Team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor or Unit Management for distribution, following standardized recipes and portion controls

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control protocols

  • Assist with clean-up of the kitchen, packing area, and other areas as directed

  • Perform general utility duties as assigned

  • Prepare meats, sauces, casseroles, desserts, and gravies

  • Operate meat slicer for slicing meat products

  • Complete and maintain required paperwork and records

  • Assist with sanitation and housekeeping of the facility

  • Pack food products and components accurately according to menu specifications

  • Complete all required recordkeeping

  • Participate in all required company training, including but not limited to HACCP, GMP requirements, and ServSafe certification

  • Provide support to Pack and Sanitation staff

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Some industrial cooking experience preferred

  • Ability to operate equipment such as meat slicers, steam kettles, convection ovens, warmers, pallet jacks, and similar equipment

  • Ability to follow written recipes and cooking/packaging instructions accurately

  • Must be able to meet the employer’s attendance standards

  • Ability to portion and pack products to accurate quantities and counts

  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds repeatedly on a regular basis throughout the shift

  • Required to work a full-time scheduled shift from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm or until production is complete
