Leidos’ Platform Integration Facility is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. This position will require the candidate to lead and instruct other quality engineers/inspectors in the daily tasks to support the manufacturing floor. The candidate should have knowledge of manufacturing practices as well as knowledge of handling suppliers’ activities. The Senior Quality Engineer will be required to interact with all levels of management in all departments and the customer. These activities will include but not limited to: Assembly operations / controls, testing, non-conformances, root cause investigation, internal and 3rd party audits.

Primary Responsibilities.  

This position will require the candidate to lead and instruct the other quality engineers/inspectors in the daily tasks to support the manufacturing floor. The candidate should have knowledge of manufacturing practices as well as knowledge of handling suppliers’ activities. The Senior Quality Engineer will be required to interact with all levels of management in all departments and the customer. These activities will include but not limited to: Assembly operations / controls, testing, non-conformances, root cause investigation, internal and 3rd party audits.

Basic Qualifications.  

  • Candidate must have a Bachelors degree with 8-12 years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a High school diploma/GED with 15 years of experience will be considered
  • Quality experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control.
  • Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root-cause and implementing corrective action.
  • Must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100.
  • Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
  • Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
  • The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Candidae must be a US Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a final Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

  • At least 2 years of experience mentoring and training other quality staff members
  • Electrical and mechanical quality experience beneficial
  • Radar experience beneficial

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
