Description

General program information and/or position overview. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with an outstanding group of engineers and technologists located in Long Beach MS. As a key member of this world-class organization, the applicant will serve as both a Configuration Manager and the site liaison for Windchill, the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Responsibilities include managing CAD data, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs), as well as supporting the development and integration of COTS items. This role requires close collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure effective configuration control and product data management throughout the system lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Lead the migration of legacy engineering data—including CAD models, drawings, and associated metadata—from previous PLM systems into Windchill, ensuring data integrity, proper classification, and alignment with current configuration management practices.
  • Utilize Windchill PLM system to manage Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and ensure configuration control of design and production data.
  • Assist in training and mentoring engineering and manufacturing personnel in the effective use of Windchill for PLM functions including document control, BOM management, and part lifecycle tracking.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM): part categories, drawing types, change orders and document control processes.
  • Review and process part/product changes efficiently, accurately and consistently.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline and standardize proper CM status accounting and procedural implementation.
  • Analyze change impact on in-process and on-hand material.
  • Review and analyze program data deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Facilitate Change Control Boards; review change proposals in a group or virtual setting and manage open items to closure.
  • Communicate regularly cross functionally to assure requirements, milestones, and deadlines are met.
  • Experience handling highly regulated, classified or sensitive data.
  • Prepare for and support functional and physical configuration audits.

Basic Qualifications.

  • Requires a BA degree and 2 - 4 years of experience in Configuration Data Management or equivalent discipline.
  • BS degree and/or CM certification from an ASQ accredited source. Experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Familiarity with CAD applications and software library tools (Solidworks and Git).
  • Intermediate to advanced Word and MS Excel knowledge.
  • Versed in the fundamental principles of EIA-649 and AS 9100.
  • Proficient in PLM, ePDM, Quickbase and/or equivalent CM tools or platforms.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, organization, problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with manufacturing operations for Department of Defense customers
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Proficiency in Windchill PLM system
  • Mastery of all the primary responsibilities defined
  • Background in AS 9100 Standard
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) and digital thread concepts
  • Experience supporting COTS integration and managing supplier-provided data/artifacts.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
