Physical Requirements
Physical requirements for this position include, but are not limited to: running, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting on the floor and in small children’s chairs, getting up and down from the floor, and lifting children and equipment. Must also have, with correction, vision and hearing within normal limits and the capacity to provide the children with a speech/language model.
Shift
Monday – Friday, occasional Saturdays.
Job Summary
The College of Health Sciences is looking for an individual to provide therapy technician support services to UK Pediatric Therapies at the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Language Therapy services. This role would include but is not limited to: preparing areas for treatment (set up/clean up); monitoring the therapy areas and space for safety and cleanliness; providing aide and/or implementing treatment activities under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist; and aid in transitioning children from the treatment area to his/her classroom and/or waiting area. Additional duties would include assisting therapy providers with clients who need extra support, ordering therapy supplies, and assisting the Child Development Center as necessary or requested by the UK Pediatric Therapies Therapy Director.
