The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering (engineering.pitt.edu/bioengineering) invites applications from accomplished individuals with a PhD or equivalent degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related disciplines for a non-tenure stream Research Assistant Professor faculty position. Applicants should have greater than five years of postdoctoral experience or similar experience carrying out independent and/or collaborative research in the field of neuroscience, neural engineering, or closely aligned endeavors.

The position involves the design and performance of novel neurophysiology experiments in an animal laboratory setting. The Research Assistant Professor will be responsible for generating novel neurophysiological data, assisting with analyses of the same, and publishing the scientific work conducted in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, the incumbent may assist in teaching, mentoring undergraduate or graduate students, and overseeing laboratory staff performing related experiments and technology development.
