Overview

Sev1Tech is looking for a Lead Cloud Architect who will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, and a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and services. As a Lead Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the program cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security design and implementation of complex cloud solutions and providing technical guidance to other architects and engineers. The role will also involve leading DevOps teams, overseeing the development of automation tools and processes for continuous integration and deployment.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex cloud and cloud infrastructure solutions that meet Government requirements.
  • Developing and implementing cloud architecture standards and best practices.
  • Working closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure supports the software development life cycle, including continuous integration and deployment.
  • Leading the DevOps team to develop automation tools and processes to streamline software development and deployment
  • Ensuring that cloud infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Implementing and maintaining monitoring and logging solutions to detect and diagnose issues in the cloud infrastructure and software applications.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other architects and engineers.
  • Evaluating new cloud technologies and common services and make recommendations for their use.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with CSPs and vendors.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation related to cloud architecture solutions.

 



Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud architecture with public cloud providers (certificate preferred) such as AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP in FedRAMP and FedRAMP+ environments, and at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • CompTIA Sec+ Certification.
  • Cloud Architecture experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience leading DevOps teams and implementing automation tools and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture and security principles.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and teaming skills and experience.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship and must possess a minimum of an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Contingency: This position is contigent upon contract award (September/October 2024 timeframe)

 



Qualifications



  • Recent DoD and ideally Department of Air Force (DAF - USAF and USSF) background and experience.
  • Familiarity and experience with DAF cloud programs and program management offices.
  • Familiarity and experience with DAF application owners and customers.
  • Experience with all four cloud service providers (AWS, MS Azure, Oracle, Google).
  • Experience with contractor manpower reporting and work breakdown structures.
  • Experience with contract budgeting and funds status reporting.
  • Experience with DoD and DAF cybersecurity requirements.
  • Knowledge of DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA).
  • Knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing SRG v1 R 4 (or superseding versions or releases).
  • Experience managing large teams with major subcontractors.
  • Experience with DoD and DAF customer communication, program management reviews, leading meetings and presentations.
  • Familiarity with DoD and DAF risk management, configuration management, and data management.
