DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and executing various financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and compliance. The applicant hired will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial data and assisting the Controller and CFO to complete a variety of important routine accounting tasks. THIS ROLE IS ONSITE.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Have clear knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experienced in working with adjusting entries, depreciation and amortization schedules.

General Ledger Management:

    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
    • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

Reconciliation:

  • Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile other financial accounts regularly.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.

Compliance:

  • Work with different state permits and sales tax registrations
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax laws.

Other:

  • Prepare Commission schedules for sales team.
  • Assist in filing monthly Sales Tax returns.
  • Check and adjust Physical Inventory periodically.
  • Experienced working with ad-hoc reports.
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities as needed.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Three to Five years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with progressive responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of Job Costing concepts (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
