In response to this community-wide challenge, Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services (PCHAS), provides 14 programs and services in 28 locations, in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, which provide children with permanent homes and adults with increased self-sufficiency. Status: Exempt


Working Conditions: Growing Together Program will provide normal office equipment (computer, copier, office furniture). Much of the work week is spent outside the office in promoting the collaboration, parent support groups, resource networking and recruiting. Reliable transportation is a necessity and overnight trips may occasionally be necessary for training and required meetings. Flexibility to work evenings will be needed to facilitate parent support groups and community events. When assisting with community events, this position will require an employee to be able to stoop, bend, stand and lift over 25lbs.


Position Summary: This position provides overall outreach coordination of the Family Resource Center in Freestone/Limestone county. This position will oversee the macro and mezzo levels of the Family Resource Center development including community outreach, parents support groups, parenting skills classes, and community coalition coordination. It also promotes prevention of child abuse and neglect public awareness, and child safety and positive parenting education for infants, toddlers and preschool children in Hill County. This position reports directly to the FRC Supervisor.


Essential Job Functions

  • To be knowledgeable of local needs and available services to children 0-5 and their parents
  • To supervise a Youth Care Provider who provides childcare assistance at FRC events.
  • To provide psychoeducational parent training to equip families in becoming competent in demonstrating these skills with their children through Trust-Based Relational Intervention and Circle of Security Parenting
  • To create and maintain a parenting resource library at the FRC with up to date information for parents on parenting topics such as technology, grief, trauma sleep, and more.
  • To oversee ordering of supplies for the FRC including diapers, wipes, formula, etc.
  • To plan, recruit and facilitate parent support groups with the goal of strengthening families and decreasing child abuse and neglect
  • To lead a monthly Parent Café for parents across Freestone and Limestone County
  • To connect with local organizations to share resources at the FRC
  • To support Parent Advisory Council by coordinating logistics for PAC meetings and advising the Chair and Co-Chair of the PAC
  • To convene a group of like-minded providers across Freestone and Limestone counties to work collaboratively in an Early Childhood Coalition
  • To plan and oversee special events for the FRC including Open Houses, Screening Days, and Speaker Nights where local speakers will come and share about topics such as grief, technology, and more
  • To create strategic partnerships with agencies and churches to be able to take FRC “out on the road” to serve the two-county area.
  • To create flyers for events and promote groups on social media platforms
  • To support any other FRC activities put on by the agency
  • To oversee and coordinate childcare for parent groups
Requirements:

This position requires education, training and experience in human service delivery to families. The ability to work with a wide variety of human problems and competence in groups delivery and management is essential. Flexibility in terms of work hours is necessary and will necessitate some evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of working families. Flex time is offered to offset these late nights. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills with children and their families is essential along with strong organizational skills, time management, and flexibility in scheduling. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with special abilities to relate to families with young children, existing social services and community groups.


Desired minimum job qualifications:

1. LBSW or bachelor's degree in a related field.

2. Two years' experience working with children and their families is preferred.

3. Experience and passion in leading curriculum-based or support groups.

3. Licensure is preferred.


Other Requirements: Must hold a valid driver's license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record. Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and childcare/elder care disqualification list screenings. As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the state of your employment and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.
