Description:

Position Summary: To test, calibrate and troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical systems or units by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
  • Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  • Consult with supervisors, or engineers for issues with units to resolve problems in system operation or maintenance.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting until thoroughly familiar with units and specifications.
  • Utilize test equipment, like multimeters, frequency generators, variable power supplies, Ice points, test fixtures.
  • Utilize various calibration software and transfer standards in order to calibrate units.
  • Utilize Metcal calibration software to enter and generate Certificates of Calibration.
  • Repair, rework, or calibrate assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
  • Communicate with CSR(s) and end user on as found conditions and proposed resolutions for repairs to gain final approval and acceptance.
  • Make judgment of repairable or BER conditions of customer owned material.
  • Process and complete call log job orders in ERP system for customer owned material.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Repair or adjust equipment, or defective components, replacing worn parts.
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
  • Practices good safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist in Instrument Assembly manufacturing area to perform new material builds and or calibrations as demand requires.






Requirements:

Abilities/Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to navigate Syteline ERP for processing and completing call log job orders for customer owned material.
  • Ability to use common sense to carry out instruction in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability with the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Ability to use computers and comfortable with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn in-house computer software and protocols.
  • Skill with making precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to work closely with others to form a strong team spirit.
  • Skills with basic math functions. Conversions of temperature measurements from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
  • Skill with using basic hand tools.



Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience within an Electronics Assembly environment.
