Position Summary:

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for conducting market and internal research to provide data-driven recommendations on compensation programs to ensure the organization remains competitive and equitable. The position utilizes market data and best practices to collaborate with HR, Recruiting, and managers to help attract, retain, and motivate top talent, aligning compensation strategies with the company's objectives and industry standards. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork, and supporting firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in Washington, DC with the option of being hybrid or primarily remote but must be available to be in office as needed.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of salary structure, compensation policies, and variable pay plans for US and international populations.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze the final reports to recommend adjustments to compensation programs.
  • Provide market competitive recommendations based on competitor research, market pricing, and best practices benchmarking.
  • Analyze compensation data to provide guidance to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Recruiting regarding appropriate compensation for new hires, promotional increases, etc.
  • Advise HRBPs and Recruiting on best practices for job description development, including title, job content, and qualifications to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Compile data, analytics, and metrics to present to HR and business leaders.
  • Conduct job evaluations to determine the appropriate job grade, title, FLSA status, and compensation package, ensuring consistency across the company.
  • Manage the year-end and mid-year compensation processes in partnership with HR Leadership. This includes:
    • Manage the advanced compensation planning process within Workday and oversee development and delivery of training resources.
    • Work with FP&A and Accounting to compile bonus accruals.
    • Analyze submissions for internal equity/pay disparities and where new salaries fall within the salary ranges.
    • Compile summary file to be shared with HR Leadership to include an analysis of budget spend and other relevant data.
    • Audit the finalized numbers in Workday to ensure all increases/bonuses were processed appropriately.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in related field.
  • 3+ years of related compensation experience.
  • Experience with compensation surveys and analyzing compensation.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-motivated and highly attentive to detail in daily tasks and finished work products.
  • Ability to stay organized and track ongoing issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion working with highly sensitive information

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday
  • Experience working with a global employee population
  • Professional designations such as PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP, etc.
  • Experience at a consulting firm or other professional service-oriented company

Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000

Candidate must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
