Description:

Hui Huliau Technology Services LLC is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. This role will involve configuring and maintaining VistA systems, installing patches, managing user accounts, and providing user support. The candidate will work collaboratively with other technical engineers and operate within a SAFe/Agile framework. his position requires U.S. citizenship, U.S. residency, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, customize, and maintain VistA systems to meet project and client requirements. Install and test VistA patches, ensuring system integrity and functionality.
  • Manage and administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Provide direct support to users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve VistA-related problems promptly.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other IT technical engineers to ensure system compatibility and performance.
  • Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies and support agile development processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to system configurations, patch management, and user support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related technical field OR 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • 5+ years of experience developing advanced SQL queries and working with large, complex datasets in SQL Server environments.
  • Experience analyzing healthcare or clinical data, including familiarity with data formats such as HL7, FHIR, or VistA.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, indexing, performance tuning, and normalization techniques.
  • Experience creating data visualizations and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred

Physical Abilities

  • Able to travel, as needed.
  • Office computers and equipment, telephones, radios, Microsoft Office suite of tools, Web Based Applications, electronic spreadsheets and database analysis, outputs, and reporting, virtual data sharing platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and other forms of remote work-sharing tools.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and work at a computer for long periods of time. Ability up to lift 25lbs on occasion, stretching, climbing stairs, and walking.
  • Must have personal computer with reliable Internet service.
