Overview

VectorUSA is offering a unique opportunity for a recent college graduate to launch a career in network design and technology estimation. Were looking for a highly motivated individual with a degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field to join our team as an Entry-Level Network Infrastructure Estimator.

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) in office entry-level role based in Torrance, CA with on-the-job training provided. The role involves learning to estimate and design network infrastructure projects, including:

• Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN)
• Structured Cabling Systems
• Electrical Systems
• IP Surveillance / Access Control
• VoIP Technologies

Qualifications:

• BS degree from an accredited University in Math, Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Finance, or similar field.
• Must be analytical and good with numbers; able to calculate margins, costs, percentages, etc.
• Must be interested in Computer Networking or other Information Technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical customer staff
• Excellent people skills
• High level of motivation and professionalism
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for local travel to customer sites.
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and Livescan fingerprint check.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future; this company does not sponsor H1B visas.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to independently manage the Audio Video Estimator III role
• 8+ years of experience in AV design, estimating, installation, and/or client-facing roles
• Knowledge of AVIXA best practices
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand RFPs, specifications, and drawings
• Capability to develop designs that enhance existing system functionality
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proactive approach to problem-solving
• Understanding of project management principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Comfortable and professional in client interactions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional customer service orientation
• Previous field/installation experience
• Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check
• Ability to pass a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check

Eventual Responsibilities as training progresses (not all inclusive):

• Attend and participate in pre-sales meetings with clients and Account Executives (sales staff)
• Review and determine client expectations and needs
• Review clients Requests for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), Scope of Work (SOW), floor plans, and design documents
• Respond to RFPs
• Prepare comprehensive Bill of Materials
• Prepare detailed Scope of Work and written proposals
• Interface with customers and company personnel

Compensation

An entry level rate starting at $17.00/hr. - $25.00/hr. with a comprehensive benefits package (medical, vision, dental, paid vacation and holidays; and a 401K matching program)
