Overview

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing companywide workplace safety programs to ensure a healthy, safe, and compliant work environment for all employees at multi-site divisional facilities as well as managing safety employees for all companies.



Responsibilities

  • Lead department and staff; hire, develop, and conduct performance management with an oversight safety employees at the corporate and remote locations.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the strategic safety plan focusing on the recognition, evaluation, and control of hazards, and the protection of employees.
  • Develop, implement, and manage occupational health and safety policies and programs in line with State/Federal regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Investigate and monitor workplace incidents/injuries and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain records and reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee employee training programs; keep employees abreast of the overall mission, vision, and goals for safety.
  • Ensure that regular facility workplace inspections and audits are conducted to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and manage injury and illness prevention programs through root cause and failure analysis for incidents.
  • Manage the implementation of risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, industrial hygiene surveys, and emergency response plans.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety performance and accident prevention and report timely.
  • Advise senior leadership on safety program issues and the effectiveness of injury prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Operations, Legal, and Facilities, to address safety concerns and improve overall safety performance.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget.
  • Stay current with changing safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
  • Manage facility Environmental programs to include SWPPP and Air Quality emissions.
  • Direct periodic Industrial Hygiene surveys to ensure facility environment safety.
  • Co-manage Workers Compensation claims with designated HR team members.
  • Work with designated legal representatives as required.


Qualifications



JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Related Board Safety Certification, OSHA training/certifications.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimal overnight travel required up to 25%.
  • Computer skills; Outlook, Word, Excel.
