Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                  

Responsible for operating machinery according to the company's standard procedures. Required to inspect assigned machinery and equipment to ensure it is functioning at the designed capacity and under proper conditions—complete tasks assigned by the Plant Leadership.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs and operates specific duties of machine/equipment assigned following standard operation procedures, including start-up and shutdown of machinery.
  • Responsible for completing routine inspections of machinery and completing various reports.
  • Verify that assigned machinery/equipment is equipped with appropriate safety covers/guards.
  • Responsible for reporting deficiencies and abnormal conditions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions of the production areas and make sure to close all doors.
  • Use and store the designated utensils to transfer raw materials; maintain work area clean and free of any debris or overflow products, including, but not limited to, sweeping surfaces and floors.
  • Accumulate the overflow products into the designated containers.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

 • Wrappers

• Apply problem-solving to address minor machine/product issues.
 • Support efficiency improvements.
 • Maintain operational documentation.

May assist with informal peer training.

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Communication skills, understanding of basic arithmetic.

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to chemicals and heat.
