We welcome applications from all areas of experimental and theoretical/computational bioengineering. We particularly encourage candidates whose work includes aspects of Device Bioengineering and/or Computational Bioengineering. In Device Bioengineering, areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the development and implementation of approaches that interface with living systems through novel materials, electric and magnetic fields, ultrasound, optics and targeted radiation, microfluidics, controlled force sensing and actuation and related tools for probing and controlling biomolecular systems, cells, and tissues. In Computational Bioengineering, areas of interest include, but are not limited to, synthetic and chemical biology approaches to cellular computation and biomolecular circuit design, the development and application of novel algorithms and machine learning/AI techniques for extracting insights from biological data sets (genomics, proteomics, imaging, neuroscience), and related areas at the interface of computer/data science and the life sciences. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Quantitative Biology or related disciplines, and have a demonstrated record of excellence and leadership in research, commensurate with career stage. We seek faculty members who will be instrumental to creating an ecosystem of excellence, with a commitment to teaching and service in our growing community. Princeton recently announced the launch of the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute, including a new Bioengineering Ph.D. program. The institute brings together a strong group of faculty engaged in Bioengineering-related research, spanning engineering departments including Chemical & Biological Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, as well as across Princeton's strong interdisciplinary biology units including Molecular Biology, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, the Lewis Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics, and the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. Faculty hired into the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute may be jointly appointed with another home department or Institute, determined through the application review process. We seek creative and enthusiastic candidates with the background and skills to build upon and complement existing strengths and help expand Princeton's Bioengineering program into new and exciting research areas. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2025. Applicants should submit online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/39961 a cover letter, curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and presentations, a 3 page summary of research accomplishments and future plans, a 1 page teaching statement, and contact information for three references.
