Description:

ATA Services, Inc. is seeking to hire a Legal Assistant to work on a temporary assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

  • Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour with weekly pay
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: 40 per week, M-F
  • Assignment duration: Assignment is scheduled to end November 28, 2025, however, there is a possibility for an extension.

The Legal Assistant will provide support services to the agency’s General Counsel and legal division.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and organize legal drafts and forms for review by the General Counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and provide written analysis as assigned.
  • Assist during legislative sessions by reviewing bills and compiling information for Fiscal Impact Reports (FIRs).
  • Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and proper grammar.
  • Coordinate, monitor, review, and complete all Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests for DHSEM and SFMO.
  • Organize, maintain, and file both physical and digital case files.
  • Provide additional support services as requested.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or certification as legal assistant
  • Knowledge of online court filing systems
  • Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously
  • Experience using dictation and transcription software

Required skills and qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Word-processing ability of 50–80 words per minute with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
