Description

THE PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Accounting Operations Manager role is to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This position establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, and produces accurate financial statements and reports.

THE ROLE

  • Preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Maintaining the general ledger system
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Supervising accounting staff
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Support the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Prepare journal entries for the monthly close, as needed
  • Review and ensure completeness of balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Review and ensure the correctness of intercompany accounts reconciliations
  • Review reconciliation of sales and use and other tax payable accounts and ensure completeness and timeliness of payments and tax filings
  • Works with IT & Operations to ensure business activity is recorded accurately and timely.
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and analytics, as needed
  • Ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Support the department with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Work closely with financial auditors to successfully achieve audited financial statements.
  • Complete other projects and analysis as required.
  • Preparation of all inventory and COGS reconciliations and entries for each Period End
  • Prepare inventory reserve reconciliations
  • Book all COGS entries for each period end.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA, preferred
  • 5-8 years’ experience.
  • Experience in ERP System, Full Circle a plus
  • International Accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
