The Catherine of Siena Teaching Scholar position involves a 3/3 teaching load, primarily of ETH 2050 The Good Life: Ethics and Contemporary Moral Problems. There is a scholarship and service expectation. Renewable one year contract, up to a total of 4 years. Scholars participate in a mentorship program during their time at Villanova.

On the scholarship front, fellows are encouraged and given support to pursue research, conference participation, and publication consistent with the eventual attainment of a tenure-track position beyond Villanova on the completion of their time with us. In terms of service, the expectation of fellows is that they participate in the life of the program, including attending faculty meetings and other events organized or hosted by the Ethics Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Philosophy or Theology/Religious Studies.
  • Specialty in ethics
  • Command of philosophical and religious, particularly Christian, ethics
  • Engagement with applied ethics.
