Description:

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We have office locations in Missouri – St. Louis and Jefferson City, Illinois – Collinsville and Effingham and Kentucky – Louisville and Prestonsburg.


We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities through one of our engineering services of Site, Transportation, Structures and Water Resources. This internship would support by contributing to projects and engaging with the team, you will support our mission and developing a better tomorrow.

Intern Program:

With over 20 interns in all six locations, we strive to enhance our program every year making it even more valuable for our interns. There are 3.5 dedicated days throughout the summer that support intern growth through networking events, industry panels, and career conversations. 100% of our prior interns would recommend a CDI internship to their friends!


Job Duties: Under supervision, the intern will assist in surveying and engineering to support a variety of design projects.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

· Must be a full or part time student seeking a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

· Knowledge of Civil Engineering fundamentals, surveying, drafting, and general civil engineering design and construction practices.

· Ability to assist in the field or on job sites.

· Excellent oral and written communication skill.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment.

· Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new concepts.


Desired Skills:

· Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation.

· Ability to provide 30 to 40 hours per week

The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $17-$21/hr. Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
