Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) Licensed Paramedic, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider and Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift
Days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends (40 hours per week). On-call duties when the Clinical Manager is absent .
Job Summary
The Paramedic Supervisor at UK HealthCare leads a team of approximately 50 Emergency Services Paramedics and Cardiopulmonary Technicians, providing daily coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and excellence in patient care and transport. The role oversees orientation, professional development, hiring, onboarding, corrective actions, and employee separation, while implementing continuous performance management processes. It ensures safe, efficient, and compassionate patient transport in compliance with EMS protocols, safety standards, and infection control guidelines. Using performance metrics, the Paramedic Supervisor optimizes staffing, scheduling, and workflows to enhance operational outcomes and patient care, while fostering a culture of continuous learning, clinical excellence, and collaboration across internal departments and stakeholders.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills (written and verbal). They must also be highly competent on technology and adept at learning new software systems.
