Job Summary
The Markey Cancer Center is seeking a Software/Data Professional I to contribute to the development, expansion, and continued maintenance of cancer research software applications such as the Cancer In Focus software framework, in use at Markey and other NCI Cancer Centers across the US. Responsibilities include implementing APIs, backend components, and user-centered, secure coding practices while providing technical support for a critical research software system. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software development, delivering high-quality support to users, and contributing to a work environment that values data privacy, security, and respectful collaboration among staff.
This position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.

Ability to develop, maintain, update, and support a complex software system alongside a software development team. Ability to produce technical documentation of complex legacy software and new software architectures. Ability to track and communicate status of complex, multi-faceted software projects. Excellent oral presentation and organization skills.
