Metro is seeking a Clerk Supervisor position that supervises daily street service operations and customer service issues in either an assigned Service Sector that covers designated fixed routes or in the Central Business District. Supervises an assigned group of operators and makes regular assessments of their performance.
The Transit Operations Division Supervisor oversees and manages as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides responsible supervisory work functioning as a Transit Supervisor - Clerks. Assists and Supervises the Division Clerks
Manage, lead, motivate, and direct staff
Supervise assigned operators and give direction, coaching and discipline when appropriate.
Manage operator attendance and daily work assignments to assure sufficient and effective staffing to meet daily service needs
Prepares and approves time, audit operator payroll discrepancies, manage discipline, and reports findings to Division Manager (Superintendent)
Determine daily staffing levels and conduct interviews with candidates for bus operator, clerk and vault puller positions
Facilitate the development of strategies to meet or exceed organizational and department performance goals and objectives
Suggest training, professional development and promotional opportunities to Transportation Leadership
Supervise board pick.
Oversee and supervise getting headways ready for operators and sub operators, assign all operators serving on show-up duty their respective routes and all other daily functions of division clerks.

Education
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) preferred.
Experience
Three to five years as a coach operator preferred.
Supervisory experience is a plus.
Knowledge of Public Transportation preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
Ability to navigate in a Windows based computer system.
Trapeze software experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses
Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with passenger and airbrake endorsements required.
Other Requirements
Prefer working knowledge of digital cameras, radios, and OTP (on-time performance), as well as working knowledge of the Metro system and routes.
