JOB SUMMARY (what must be accomplished, and equipment used to perform job functions such as computers, tools, machines, materials, etc.)

  • During shift conduct quality checks to ensure tasks are completed by janitor staff.
  • Assist staff in accomplishing tasks within a deadline.
  • Responsible for reviewing checklists daily to ensure the area was cleaned and the building was completed. Checklists are to be signed and dated.
  • Notify the manager of any additions needed in custodial services or any damages/defects/issues/repairs with floor equipment or other equipment.
  • Check supply closets levels for all supplies and replace as needed.
  • Respond and attend to work orders promptly.
  • Responsible for strictly adhering to health and safety regulations and policies; ensure janitor staff followed as well.
  • Training new staff on standards expected in all locations including job descriptions and checklists.
  • Perform periodic cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass and removing rubbish.
  • Mix water and detergents in containers according to product specifications to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, or furniture, and dispense chemicals in bottles with correct labels.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
  • Gathers and empties trash including trashcans in the proximity of exterior main entrances.
  • Services, supplies, and cleans restrooms
  • Cleans and polishes furniture, drinking fountains, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning products and sponges
  • Dusting of office furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Spot clean or shampoo carpets; strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Drives vehicles (vans) for travel to various work sites.
  • May have to move equipment and supplies either manually or by using a hand truck.
  • Wash, dry and fold rags and towels; ensure all team members complete
  • Represents the Company at all times with professionalism & a commitment to quality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Hourly Rate $23.04
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 4:30 PM-1:00 AM

Specifically, for training areas - Training mat and disinfecting procedure:

  • All mats must be swept, vacuumed, and cleaned wall to wall/corner to corner before disinfecting.
  • Disinfect the following mats at a minimum of 2 times per day (mid-day when classes break for lunch and again in the evening after classes are complete.) using a Neatural Quaternary Amine #M23H or equivalent:
    • Tactical training rooms 1, 2 and 3
    • 13-B Land Border Training 1001 mats
    • 13-C Airport training floor mats
    • 13-D Basement training floor mats.
QUALIFICATIONS (what is required to perform the job, i.e. education, experience, skills, etc.):
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a supervisor
  • 2-3 years of related janitorial experience or similar

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background security investigation in order to work in assigned areas.

WORK EXPERIENCE (minimum experience required to perform the job satisfactorily; may include preferred/desired experience):

  • Prior supervisory experience, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (requirements to perform job satisfactorily, i.e. basic computer or math skills, or specific software knowledge, 10-key/calculator skills, or ability to read and write English, or ability to reason/problem solve, etc.):

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (demands that are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job, i.e. percentage of time employee must lift, stand, sit, climb, stoop, reach, hear, etc.):

  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively
  • Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis

WORK ENVIRONMENT (characteristics that are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, i.e. environmental factors such as noise levels, temperature, ventilation, lighting, safety hazards, etc.):

  • Work is performed primarily in the buildings, may need to travel between buildings, some equipment may have a higher noise level, and working with cleaning chemicals.
