Benefits Analyst



Facilitates leave of absences, short- and long-term disability plans and workers’ compensation. Mitigates routine issues, works with vendors, and compiles data for analysis.


Job Summary

Facilitates health and welfare, retirement, and educational benefits administration. Mitigates routine issues, works with vendors, and compiles data for analysis.


Essential Functions

• Performs benefits administration activities to support core transaction processing including, but not limited to, leave of absences (FMLA, Faculty Medical/Family Leave, Personal Leave, Military Leave), short term disability, long term disability, and workers compensation.

• Works with vendors to verify processes are carried out effectively.

• Reviews and resolves routine issues and employee concerns such as leave questions, disability claims, etc. and advises and educates on escalated benefit inquiries regarding leave questions, disability claims, etc. for faculty and staff.

• Makes recommendations for enhanced communications and process improvements to continuously enhance efficiency and customer service.

• Presents benefit materials related to leaves and disability to faculty and staff as directed.


Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
