Job Purpose
Manage, control and develop the Ocean Freight (OFR) product in the area in accordance with the group business strategy and local business environment to deliver maximum profit and optimize business assets and human resources
Major Responsibilities
Customers – New & Existing
Identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships
 Ensure OFR operations respond to customer enquiries/complaints in a professional manner
Key Account Contacts
Lead in engagements and strategic customer interfaces with Key Account Contacts
Respond to Key Account enquiries and complaints
Country Manager
Support the Country Manager to manage and grow the OFR business
Support the Country Manager in strategic business planning and budgeting
Branch& Gateway OFR Organization
Provide leadership in the country of product and business development, resource utilization, branch OFR organization and activities
 Lead the development, implementation and localization of key initiatives and programmes
Facilitate and support branches’ efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities, including being an active subscriber or participant of global research agencies
Establish KPIs and obtain agreement & commitment from branch management
Provide guidelines and support for the implementation of programs such as security regulation to meet country mandated regulatory requirements
Marketing & Sales
Interact with marketing (at country level) in terms of pricing
Interact with oversea’s marketing & sales team on pricing matter and responses to customer RFQs
Lead pricing team to complete tariff structure.
Overseas Stations
Liaise with Overseas Stations on problem shipments
Handle Overseas Stations’ queries
Product Management (Ro & Global)
 Defines, implements, monitors and enforces service and quality standards at country level in cooperation with product management (in Regional Office)
Business Performance & Results
Responsible for operational result at country/country group level OFR
Defines, monitors and enforces targets to the operational units
Select and assigns key positions to reach targets
Analyses costs and cost structure of production on country/country group level, and derives improvement measurements and actions
Championing Quality & Improvement
Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of production means (cost management), e.g. make or buy
Defines and implements Ocean Freight ISO standards in line with corporate instructions
Business Operational Management
Monitor and Support for operational management, Production sites, Traffic management, Technical support (buying, capacity etc.), Local purchasing on country level for OFR according to corporate policy
Approve all invoices and internal applications
Review department budget status
People Management
Determine organization structure, roles and responsibility and performance targets for the function
Develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness.
Develop a team spirit and multitasking capabilities within the team.
Plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective function.
 Conduct performance appraisal, including coaching
Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets.
Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.
