Key Responsibilities -
Load Planning & Vehicle Fit
Evaluate material characteristics (size, weight, handling needs) to ensure proper vehicle assignment.
Determine and select the appropriate transport vehicle (e.g., truck type, container) for optimal fit and safety.
Route Design & Geographic Coordination
Develop optimal routes leveraging geographic knowledge to minimize distance, cost, and delivery time.
Account for road types, terrain, traffic patterns, and regulatory restrictions.
Scheduling & Dispatch Coordination
Plan and schedule loading and dispatch timelines to meet delivery windows and operational targets.
Liaise with warehouse staff, drivers, and clients to align on loading times and expectations.
Operational Awareness & Process Alignment
Monitor warehouse and loading operations closely, ensuring capacity constraints and timing align with schedules.
Integrate with overall logistics workflows, maintaining communication across departments (warehouse, operations, dispatch).
Carrier & Vendor Communication
Coordinate with carriers and drivers, providing clear instructions regarding route, load specifics, and delivery requirements.
Act promptly to address any disruptions or deviations during transit.
