Responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical Sales Project Coordinator with strong technical aptitude to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Field Sales Manager, you'll demonstrate your sales skills by providing project management and coordination of high-profile sales opportunities for complex Fixed Gas and Flame Detection (FGFD) systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for work in conjunction with field sales associates to train and educate manufacturer representatives and end-users on technical products and services and to support sales programs to increase revenue.   • Serve as project coordinator on high profile technical sales opportunities within Custom Products, which sells complex FGFD products and systems to customers.
  • Prepare detailed quotations and commercial proposals for clients. Negotiate with customers.
  • Proactively take steps to understand Customer Requirements, set schedules and expectations.
  • Partner with sales, engineering, production, systems support, etc. to drive projects to completion.
  • Propose and develop technical solutions to manufacturer representative’s needs.
  • Apply product knowledge (ex. area classifications, product applications, and product configurations, etc.) to complete requirements for customer quotations, shipping documents, and customer vendor data requirements, as necessary.
  • Apply complex FGFD system knowledge to meet the needs of the customer, including understanding of their current system to provide cost effective product solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge and proficiency on all product lines within the FGFD product group.
  • Assist sales personnel in growing market share for key core products and services. Support, drive and monitor key sales opportunities with reps and end-users. Communicate opportunities to sales personnel and channel partners. Track and monitor opportunities via CRM tools.
  • Promote and sell FGFD products and services. Call on channel partners and prospective end user customers. Provide education on new product launches, promotional programs, services and product information to generate sales revenue.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users and channel partners by using tools such as web casts, toolbox presentations and reach out calls, including monitoring results.
  • Follow through with leads and issues provided by Sales, Marketing or Customer Service teams.
  • Effectively and profitably support and service low volume end users without direct Field Sales contacts.
  • Assist manufacturer representatives in quote generation for technical product offerings.
  • Communicate with Field Sales Managers and key representative personnel.
  • Partner with functional groups (Sales, Marketing, IT, Customer Service, Field Service, and Service Repair, etc.) to facilitate completion of unique business requirements. Manage requirements and tasks via Issue Tracking Database10% domestic travel expected.
  • Communicate directly with customers concerning technical systems information, product knowledge, and product/systems applications via phone queue and emails
  • Partner with functional groups to facilitate completion of unique business requirements.
  • Provide customers with both technical and application information through product demonstrations and seminars. Conduct training sessions for customers, channel partners and manufacturer representatives by using tools such as web casts, and toolbox presentations.
  • Facilitate follow up to resolve major concerns and support business requirements.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing and custom products.


Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Proven ability to grasp, understand and apply technical product knowledge to project management, quotations, market and field sales activities.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to be both a self-starter as well as work compatibly within a team.
  • Demonstrated Sales Ability / Persuasiveness.
  • Strong communication, including written and verbal technical/non-technical skills.
  • Proven ability to organize and present product information to large groups.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills.
  • Creative problem-solving with a customer-based prospective.

Education and experience required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

This position is available at two different career levels based upon experience, education, etc:

  • Level I: At least 3 years of sales, customer service, or related experience supporting a manufacturing or representative business.
  • Level II: At least 5 years of sales, customer service, or related experience supporting a manufacturing or representative business.  Associates Degree in Technical Discipline or bachelor’s degree in non-technical discipline.
  • Level III: At least 8 years of sales, customer service, or related experience supporting a manufacturing or representative business with at least 5 years in an FGFD sales support role 

Education and experience preferred:

  • Level I: Associates Degree in technical discipline.
  • Level II/III: Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated selling skills with end user/distributor management experience.
  • Demonstrated capabilities of exceeding sales and profitability goals.
  • SAP experience.
