Function of Position:

The Program Coordinator/Instructor, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) & Home Health Aid (HHA) reports to the Director, Healthcare Programs. The Program Coordinator assures/organizes all things related to program certification/approval/reporting, day-to-day operations, instruction, and the clinical experience. The Program Coordinator will work with the Director to support student enrollment, completion, and testing for program participants. In addition to oversight, the Program Coordinator will also have instruction and clinical responsibilities.

Flexible work hours are mandatory to meet program needs.

*This is a temporary position that may be renewed annually, contingent upon the availability of the College budget and performance reviews. This position is eligible for paid time off and benefits.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates all day-to-day operations of the CNA and HHA program to include the coordination of classrooms, classroom instruction, assessments, tracking attendance, and coordinating clinical scheduling, site paperwork, and communications to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains collegial relationships with clinical faculty and meets all requirements of the clinical facility.
  • Supports student registration, advisement, and alignment of support services for students in the CNA and HHA programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Teaches courses and clinical instruction, provides instructional oversight, and evaluates student performance per guidelines set by the department, MCC, and NYS, ensuring compliance with all reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Coordinates program review, evaluation, and makes suggestions for adjustments to program delivery and implementation for improved program and student outcomes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Stays current in nursing and actively participates in professional development.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid NYS RN license.
  • Earned BSN from a regionally accredited higher education institution, or currently enrolled and in good standing.
  • Two (2) years of long-term care or care of the chronically ill.
  • Previous teaching experience or approved train-the-trainer.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college and the Economic Development & Innovative Workforce Services (EDIWS) division.
  • Experience in and understanding of non-traditional pathways and serving diverse populations of students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned master's degree or higher in nursing or a related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution, or currently enrolled and in good standing.
  • Demonstrated successful training experience, evaluating nursing programs and curriculum outcomes, and program improvement planning is desirable.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently


Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $75,000 to $80,000 and is based on the mentioned factors.
