The MEL Specialist, under the supervision of the Centre Manager, will be hired full-time to be responsible for monitoring and evaluation planning, implementation, and reporting for the SAFE project.

Your Background & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning efforts or strong background in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with applied research, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods, and indicator development and tracking; experience conducting MEL for education and training projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience of working constructively as part of a small team.
  • Experience working in high-risk environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Eurasian operating environment, especially as it relates to the media and civil society landscape.
  • Excellent analytical capability presenting key findings and recommendations.
  • Self-motivated and result oriented.
  • Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Training-related experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel within Ukraine and to other Eastern European countries is a plus.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Ukraine.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Ukrainian.

Your Daily Tasks:

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of project activities and materials (using in-person and remote data collection tools) to assess learning outcomes and monitor training and consultation quality and implementation.
  • Coordinate communications and follow-up with projects beneficiaries.
  • In coordination with the Center Manager, design, lead, and document evaluation activities to examine program impact on beneficiaries.
  • Write training and activity reports, analyzing results and trends within data for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Based on findings and evidence, support program staff in developing strategies for program improvement.
  • Provide quality training and activity data, as well as promptly respond to any other monthly or quarterly reporting requests.
  • Coordinate and steer the curriculum development and maintenance in all its aspects; including but not limited to incorporating MEL feedback and strategies for program improvement.
  • Evaluate participant’s reactions and attitude to learning in each lesson, evaluate comments and examples in order to verify a concept has been acquired by trainees.
  • Assist with evaluation of Monitoring and Evaluation tools and identifying best practices along with other centers and center staff.
  • Communicate information obtained through MEL activities to program staff and various external stakeholders, notably donors and partners.
  • Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager.
