Function of Position:

Adjunct faculty prepare and teach courses in the department, develop new educational materials, and assist with the assessment of student learning, as appropriate. Adjunct faculty report to the chairperson of the Health Professions Department. Faculty are responsible for preparing and teaching courses in the department and will be assigned at the Brighton Campus, or an online, remote, or hybrid modality as needed. The successful candidate will bring to our school a particular expertise in Radiologic Technology. We seek a candidate with interest in active collaboration with our college and department as well as our Radiologic Technology program.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and maintains current subject knowledge
  • Teaches courses and evaluates student performance as per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community College
  • Teaches course(s)/section(s), as outlined by the contract and as available
  • Is knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
  • Prepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagement
  • Prepares Course Information Sheet/Syllabus/Outlines in accordance with department and College guidelines
  • Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely manner
  • Actively interacts with FT faculty and academic coaches to support student learning and retention
  • Responds to student's academic concerns in defined manner as outlined in CIS
  • Assists department with student retention and completion initiatives including early alert
  • Develops innovative teaching pedagogy to facilitate learning
  • Incorporates high impact teaching practices into course design, as appropriate
  • Attends department meetings as a contributing member
  • Actively engages in pedagogical and academic discipline professional development
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, demonstration of excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize workflow and multi-task
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the program director

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution
  • Documents two (2) years' clinical experience in the professional discipline
  • Ability to teach courses within the department (http://www.monroecc.edu/depts/radtech/)
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus
  • Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs
  • Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college
  • Evidence of proficiency with technology

  • Valid NYS Radiologic Technology License
  • Valid ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies
  • Awareness of the potential value of technology as a tool for teaching
  • Certification in other medical imaging modality
  • Experience and/or interest in developing and teaching online courses
  • Experience with computerized student record management
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently



Additional Information:

Pay Rate for Fall 2025 & Spring 2026: Determined on adjunct rank and ranges from $1,217- $1,484 per contact hour.
