The Subsea Project Engineer will support the Commercial Projects in Bastion's Houston, TX office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance with and delivery against project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required. The Engineer will usually work as part of a team and may also be required to provide information and engineering guidance to other functions within the business.
- Provides specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in areas of mooring engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice. Aware of clients' needs; addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
- Under limited supervision, the successful candidate would be involved in the engineering activities related to the preparation and offshore installation of anchor piles and mooring systems, including tow and hook-up of Host facility/Floating Wind Structures.
- Responsible for the production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
- Under limited supervision, independently evaluates, organizes and prioritizes work.
- Understands clients' needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
- Signs and issues technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
- Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
- Represents the Company in meetings/correspondence with Clients, Subcontractors, 3rd Parties etc., in a technical capacity.
- Ensure full traceability of the technical development of the assigned scope throughout the life of the project.
- Actively engage in knowledge sharing, capture of Lessons Learned and application of Engineering Standards.
- Actively engage in the project risk assessment and mitigation processes.
- Undertake, and check others', analysis, design and engineering activities associated with subsea construction and installation.
- Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides; Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
- Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.
- Provide engineering assistance during mobilizations and occasional periods of offshore or site working.
- Support the development of project-specific procedures for the implementation of work to be carried out by onshore & offshore personnel.

REQUIRED:

- This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in ocean engineering/naval architecture, civil engineering or mechanical engineering (Demonstrable experience in a similar role will also be considered).
- Must have 2+ years of recent and related engineering experience in systems within the Oil and Gas industry and/or Offshore Renewables.
- Awareness of marine classification and local legislation (Essential).
- Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
- Identifies industry codes, standards and design guidelines.
DESIRED:
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) credential.
- Experience with classification society approval processes (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register) for manned subsea systems.
- Knowledge of deepwater and ultra-deepwater operational challenges.
- Familiarity with digital twin technologies or structural health monitoring for subsea assets.
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary subsea projects, including life support, control systems, or integration with topside infrastructure.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position is located onsite.
- This position may require some travel.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
