JOB SUMMARY:

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the company. This role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry, including project accounting, cost management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial operations in a construction environment and will play a key role in strategic decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Intercompany Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional duties as necessary.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is an on-site position. General office hours are M-F, 7a-4p or 8a-5p.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a controller role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite and ideally ERP implementation experience
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
