Under limited supervision, manage the execution, planning and coordination of the Automation Center of Excellence’s business and staff. This team will consist of the Product Application Engineers, Product Application Managers, and a Team Leader. This group’s responsibility will be to provide the highest level and quality of technical support for MEAU products and applications, along with development and/or delivery of basic and advanced technical/application training to MEAU personnel, channel partners and customers on Mitsubishi products.

  • Direct and manage the daily activities of the A.C.E. team to provide technical expertise and support primarily for internal stakeholder groups. These groups consist of but are not limited to the Field Engineering Support Group (FESG) and Product Specialists (PS) on specific/focused products via on-site visits, phone, email, and other methods as appropriate. Technical support includes, but is not limited to, these activities:
    • Serve as the product expert and escalated technical resource (black belt for specific products) to stakeholder groups.
    • Provide on-site application engineering and product consulting.
    • Maintain technical documents on MEAU products, as assigned.
    • Develop technical/application notes on specific and focused products.
    • Travel to the factory in Japan to receive training on existing and new products. In doing this, a direct line of communication to the key resources at MELCO will be established in effort to provide excellence in technical product application knowledge to the Technical Support Groups at MEAU.
    • Maintain current knowledge of new products and applications, through self-study, hands-on testing of demo units, and training in Japan.
    • Provide technical data and documentation to stakeholder groups.
    • Provide technical support and consultation to Product Marketing / Product Management teams.
  • Develop and provide advanced technical product and application training on Mitsubishi products.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork building characteristics and develop staff for career growth.
  • Document support case data utilizing Salesforce.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory / Management Responsibilities

  • Manage the ACE group.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to staffing, work schedules, time-keeping, training and development of staff, performance management and evaluations, disciplinary actions including termination of employment if required.

Travel Requirements

  • 30% Travel for training and application support within Americas, Europe and Japan.

Essential Education, Skills and Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of application experience with industrial automation products
  • Experience with PLC, VFD, HMI, Robot, Servo, CNC, Control Networks, SCADA systems, and other industrial automation solutions
  • Experience with various industrial automation applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain in-depth, up-to-date technical knowledge, including the latest MEAU products, and to serve as an escalated technical resource (subject matter expert [SME])

The target pay range for this position is $135,000-$150,000 annually. The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.
