JobSummary:
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring thatall project activities and costs are kept on schedule and tracked accordingly.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Assist project manager to develop projectscope of work
• Study and understand all relevant projectdocuments pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedules
• Work with all relevant project and disciplinepersonnel to prepare plans and schedules
• Convert scope of work document into logicallylinked, resourced project schedule
• Prepare realistic, achievable schedules aslogical networks and where necessary integrate engineering, procurement andconstruction schedules.
• Develop progress curves and manpowerhistograms
• Develop cost curves and cash flow histogram
• Establish cost breakdown structure
• Assist in development of CTR
• Review time-writing and develop weeklystaffing reports
• Collect expended man-hours and prepare EarnedValue analysis reports
• Gather accurate progress and expended manhours information at relevant time intervals
• Prepare, review and ensure the timely issue ofall relevant reports to stakeholders
• Verbally and in writing advise projectmanagement and discipline personnel on impacts, contingencies and generallyguide the scopes towards the earliest possible finish
• Provide realistic resource forecast data at aproject and corporate level
• Maintain realistic future work forecast plansfor resource management
• Coordinate with vendors and fabricatorsinvoicing requirements
• Provide input into the budget forecastingprocess
• Issue weekly and monthly cost reports
• Mentor other, less experienced schedulers
• Train, encourage and provide guidance toschedulers, junior and assistant personnel
• Manage cost discipline to ensure accurate andtimely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impactof all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules
• Participate in schedule risk analysis asrequired
• Analyze progress and effects on schedule andadvise necessary corrective actions
• Work with accounting on the development andissue of monthly invoices
• Track actual costs and prepare cost forecasts
• Participate in quantitative cost risk analysis
• Participate in project risk analysis
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Requires a High-School Diploma or Equivalent;
• Requires a minimum of ten (10) years' experiencein an applicable project controls role performing listed duties;
• Project controls experience in the Oil &Gas industry;
• Requires an excellent working knowledge ofproject management software, specifically Primavera P6 & Excel.
• Requires the ability to manage multipleprojects and determine priorities
• Must have an excellent understanding of thebasic principles of project management
• Must have a proven record and experienceleading the project controls effort on assigned projects
• Must have a high degree of computer literacy
• Must have experience implementing corporateand contract specific planning procedures
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Power BI and Acumen Fuse are a plus
WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations.
• Field duties require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;
• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.
