Description:

Enhanced Veterans Solutions, Inc. (EVS) is seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to support an upcoming proposal effort* for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). In this role, you will manage, maintain, and secure enterprise network environments. This role requires a skilled IT professional with a deep understanding of Windows-based systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity tools. The administrator will support day-to-day operations, perform system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal system performance and security across the organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer daily operations of Windows-based networks and systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
  • Perform system backups, recovery procedures, and maintain documentation for all configurations and processes.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, performing root cause analysis and recommending improvements.
  • Monitor and manage network security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus programs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Maintain system security posture and support compliance with cybersecurity standards and policies.
  • Provide technical support and training to users, helping to resolve system-related issues and improve technical proficiency.
  • Conduct system performance tuning, resource allocation, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Assist in the development of system specifications, conduct market research, and support IT procurement processes.
  • Work with various networking protocols, particularly TCP/IP, and stay informed on current threats and detection methods.

*This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The anticipated start date and scope of work will be determined based on the outcome of the interview process and the details of the awarded contract.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Windows system administration or a closely related IT role.


Proficiency in:

  • Windows environments (installation, configuration, maintenance)
  • Network protocols (especially TCP/IP)
  • Backup and recovery strategies
  • Performance tuning and systems optimization
  • Network and system security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection)

Additionally:

  • Understanding of computing vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and modern detection/prevention tools.
  • Experience with technical documentation and system design planning.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for user support and training.
  • Eligible for IT Level II designation with a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Compliant with DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (CWF) directives:
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+)


Additional Skills:

  • Experience working in defense, government, or similarly regulated IT environments.
  • Familiarity with system audit procedures and RMF/DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Ability to multitask and work both independently and within a team environment.
