Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Development, the Business Development Representative for the Robotics & Survey Division will work closely with the Business Development team, Operations, Marketing, and Pursuit teams to expand Ballard’s presence in the robotics-based inspection, survey, and repair market. This role will focus on building relationships in sectors such as power, water/wastewater, industrial, environmental, transportation, energy, and infrastructure, as well as clients with underwater assets. The representative will proactively identify opportunities, attend tradeshows and industry events, conduct targeted market analysis, and promote Ballard’s innovative capabilities in ROVs, AUVs, sonar imaging, laser scanning, and related services

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, marine technology, or equivalent education
Experience:
· 5+ years’ professional experience in business development within an A/E/C firm, marine services provider, or technology-driven inspection/survey environment.
· Experience with a CRM database, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
· Demonstrated experience in developing markets for specialized technical services such as ROV/AUV inspections, sonar/bathymetric surveying, or underwater construction support
Skills:
· Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with clients.
· A proven track record in Ballard’s core markets of Power, Water/Wastewater, Industrial, Environmental, and Transportation, as well as experience in maritime or subsea inspection markets.
· Well organized with high attention to detail.
· Highly motivated and high-energy, able to function well in a fast-paced, growth-oriented team environment.

Responsibilities:
· Plan, attend, and follow up on national and regional tradeshows focused on marine robotics, inspection, and infrastructure.
· Work with the BD team to strategically identify and penetrate new markets for robotics inspection, survey, and ROV/AUV-enabled construction services.
· Collaborate with the TCG Business Development group to pursue integrated solutions for clients.
· Conduct market research to identify new robotics and survey opportunities in sectors such as hydropower, dam safety (FERC), bridge inspection, pipeline and cable infrastructure, and environmental restoration. Capture leads and opportunities in the CRM system.
· Develop and maintain strategic customer relationships that result in qualified leads and long-term contracts.
· Prepare and deliver compelling customer presentations and technical pitches highlighting Ballard’s full suite of robotics services, including
o Inspection & Survey
o AUV/ROV Operations & Data Collection
o ROV-Enabled Construction, Maintenance & Repair
· Clearly articulate Ballard’s robotics capabilities, differentiators, and strategic vision to potential clients and industry stakeholders.
· Monitor and improve business processes through analysis and collaboration with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
· Track and report on market conditions, activities, and trends, including changes in regulations, technical developments, and competitive positioning.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands Working Environment:
· Work is primarily performed in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· May visit project sites and be able to work in varied weather conditions and in a construction environment, around equipment/machinery.
· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Salary Range:
· $90K-$120K
· Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
