We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Atlas Terminal Company team as a Finisher! This role is responsible for preparing and applying paint and/or vinyl surface finishes to trucks, trailers, and other equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various surfaces and parts of truck, trailer, lift gates, etc. for painting as required by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting, or other means as necessary. 
  • Layout paint scheme per customer specifications. Mask and protect the parts that are not being painted. 
  • Determine quantities of type of primers and topcoats necessary to achieve desired color consistency, and drying properties for different surfaces and repainting. 
  • Paint prepared surfaces using spray gun or appropriate applicator. 
  • Applying vinyl vehicle wraps and decals per manufacturer’s recommendations. 
  • Inspect all paint work for quality and accuracy of workmanship to include runs, sags, coverage, color, and gloss. 
  • Inspect all vinyl and decal work for quality and accuracy of workmanship to include location of vinyl, air pockets, application around rivets, and hardware, etc. 
  • Aid in the estimation of billable hours and material needs for paint and/or vinyl installation projects and the finishing work required for refurbishment, customization or other project work. 
  • Assisting with clean-up of newly coated units (tape and masking removal). 
  • Clean and store tools and equipment and clean worksite.  
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications



What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2-4 years of job-related experience in autimotive painting, bodywork, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience are required
  • Proven experience in surface preparation techniques such as washing, sanding, and sandblasting

  • Applying vinyl wraps and decals according to manufacturer specifications
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to customer specifications
  • Knowledge of various types of primers and topcoats, including their application methods and drying properties
  • Familiarity with safety practices related to painting and handling of chemicals, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
