Description:
Enhanced Veterans Solutions, Inc. (EVS) are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) to join our proposal effort*. This role is responsible for administering and supporting daily operational requirements of complex computer network systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Unix/Linux systems administration, network security, system optimization, and technical support within secure computing environments.
Manage, maintain, and optimize Unix/Linux systems, including workstation, file server, and web server environments.
Install and configure system hardware, software, COTS applications, patches, and system upgrades.
Administer system and data backup and recovery operations.
Monitor, analyze, and tune systems for optimal performance and scalability.
Implement and maintain security tools, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Provide tiered support for users, addressing complex system issues and escalating when appropriate.
Create and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
Train users and staff on relevant software and IT systems.
Assist with the design and documentation of local system architecture and interfaces.
Monitor and maintain system compliance with cybersecurity directives and best practices.
*This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The anticipated start date and scope of work will be determined based on the outcome of the interview process and the details of the awarded contract.
Requirements:
Active Top-Secret Security Clearance.
Master's level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
6+ years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration.
Strong background in:
System backup/recovery, software/library/security management
Hardware installation/configuration and network troubleshooting
Operating systems in diverse environments
Performance tuning and resource allocation
Proficient with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and network security tools.
Knowledge of computing/networking vulnerabilities, attack methods, and modern detection techniques.
Experience supporting systems in a classified or regulated environment.
Must meet DoD Cyber Workforce (CWF) certification compliance for the IAT III.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible)
Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-based environments
Familiarity with DISA STIGs and RMF compliance
Prior experience supporting DoD or federal IT systems
Certifications: IAT Level III Certification
