The Systems Engineer (I) is responsible for installing Server hardware and Operating system software, server applications including third party software technologies, network configuration and troubleshooting, training and supporting employees on the corporate network. The Systems Engineer (I) configures the equipment and software to meet business needs and documents the solution for ongoing support. This function reports to the Manager Systems Engineering. The Systems Engineer (I) is required to work independently or as part of a team and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning:
Ensure the efficient utilization of IT resources
Supports the development and maintenance of all documentation related to network, systems operations and disaster recovery
Conducts technology research and feasibility studies / testing for new technologies
Conducts analysis of system performance, network and other IT activities to enhance overall service delivery to the business
Deployments & Operational Management
Plan, install and configure information systems.
Execute and assist in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including networks, Skype, teams and other cloud technologies, data centers, servers, PC’s, remote access, anti-virus etc. including associated hardware.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the department heads, managers, end users and peers regarding pertinent IT activities
Works with other functional IT areas on project related activities including the development and maintenance of disaster recovery ability for all critical software and hardware systems
Prepare for disaster recovery and ensure that appropriate backups are completed and tested
Assist in IT project.
Assist Level 2 support teams on issue resolution
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in the field of computer science or information systems (desired)
3-5 years of job-related experience
Certifications in Microsoft (Azure Administrator / MCSE)
PowerShell and SQL scripting required
Excellent technical understanding of network related protocols and services (TCP/IP; DNS, DHCP etc.)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft technology (Active Directory and Azure Active Directory / Windows Server 2016/2019/2022; MS SQL 2019/MSSQL 2016, Windows 11, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, MS System Center)
Excellent understanding of backup technologies, data de-duplication, security concepts required
Excellent knowledge of servers / SAN’s / routers / switches
Must be team player and exceptionally customer service oriented
Good understanding of organizations’ goals and objectives
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Must be very organized and self-motivated / independent worker with keen attention to detail and follow through
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Frequent work outside regular business hours to facilitate system upgrades / rollouts
Travel (up to 50%).
Work Hours 7.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. PST or as per department head/manager guideline.
Range of pay - $90,000 - $100,000, annually. Plus, annual bonus.
