POSITION SUMMARY:

The Leidos Digital Modernization Repeatable Offerings Organization has an exciting Software Architect position that will support and modernize cloud applications.  This team is responsible for modernization of current and future mission critical applications and production support.  

Primary Responsibilities:

 •    Serve as the software architect and technical lead for the modernization of a family of mission critical applications that are hosted in AWS GovCloud.

•    Create and deliver key architecture and design artifacts for review and approval by key customer leadership and technical SMEs.

•    Evaluate and influence technology and solution choices that provide long term benefit to the customer; communicate those benefits to customer leadership for buy-in and approval

•    Mentor and lead the full stack technical team responsible for the development and testing of the newly modernized application suite

•    Work closely with the project management team to establish achievable milestones; ensure deliverables are completed according to plan.

•    Communicate directly with the customer and senior Leidos leadership to ensure clear status, timely updates, and key technical artifacts are delivered as defined throughout the course of the project.
•    Participate in design, development, testing, and release of key functionality for large scale custom software projects to meet customer requirements
•    Evaluate systems architectures and code for performance and security issues and suggest best practice remediation approaches to ensure highly performant and secure deployed applications.
•    Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software developers, QA analysts, operations staff, supervisors, and clients
•    Provide team leads with technical expertise and schedule recommendations, updates and risk management approaches to ensure development activities proceed as needed 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (US Citizenship required)
•    A Bachelors’ degree and 12+ years of prior experience with a critical role in the development of complex software solutions and developing and supporting software applications or a Master’s with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

•    Strong knowledge of programming languages, development methodologies, and best practices

•    Proficient in the practical application of programming languages such as React, Angular JS, Vue, JavaScript, Node JS, HTML/CSS, Bash, etc.

•    Experience working with UI/UX designer, methodology, tools; collaborative refinement and implementing to defined specifications; previous cross browser development experience

•    Experience with Microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON

•    Able to provide technical guidance and leadership to the highly skilled development team
•    Working knowledge of relational databases, database design data modeling and SQL
•    Ability to research technically complex issues and provide a clear path to resolution
•    Experienced in Agile and Scrum development methodologies and processes
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
•    Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills

•    In-depth knowledge of relational databases, database design data modeling with SQL and NoSQL

•    Responsible for researching technical issues and provide a clear path to resolution with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

•    Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS and Azure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Certification in relevant technologies or architecture frameworks

•    Deeply experienced with RESTful APIs, JSON, AJAX, XHTML, SOAP
•    Design and development of web services experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
