Overview

The Engineering Group Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of Process Engineers at Cambrex Charles City (CCC).  They manage resources to support day-to-day activities as well as annual goals and objectives for the team.  The Process Engineering Group Leader works closely with the Engineering Fellow and Engineering Leadership on strategic projects and initiatives.  The Engineering Group Leader performs ongoing coaching and development for their team members.  They are also responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.



Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering resources to support project assignments in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine work prioritization and timelines to support the production schedule.
  • Provide ongoing coaching for process engineers on effective communication with external clients, internal leadership, interdepartmental cross-functional teams, and operators.
  • Partner with Engineering Fellow to define engineering best practices and implement them consistently across the department.
  • Partner with Engineering Fellow and Leadership to drive continuous improvement in the CCC processes and systems to become ‘best-in-class.’
  • Continuously improve documentation systems to increase efficiency and compliance with cGMP and/or other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop the process engineering team with a focus on trainings and skill development.
  • Provide ongoing performance coaching for team members and complete annual performance reviews.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • 7+ years of Process Engineering experience is required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience is preferred.
