Laboratory Research Technician I
Job Summary
Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.
Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of laboratory experiments such as histology, flow cytometry, functional studies, molecular techniques, gene sequencing, and related technical functions, testing, troubleshooting, and analysis. Ensures conformity to specifications.
- Identifies and prepares specimens for cell separation and histology.
- Oversees supply management: ordering, procurement, tracking estimates, and receiving items.
- Operates and maintains applicable laboratory equipment for job functions.
- Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and logbooks. Organizes, documents and analyzes results.
- Maintains, calibrates, cleans, and tests sterility of laboratory equipment.
- Train students and laboratory personnel.
Physical Effort
This position is primarily sedentary. However, there may be some walking between collaborative areas.
