The Richardson Lab in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to study the role of immunometabolism in shaping infectious disease outcomes, with a focus on the Gram-positive pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. Immunometabolism encompasses the metabolic adaptations microbes undergo to survive immune defenses, as well as the host’s metabolic responses required for effective immunity. The successful candidate will work with tissue culture, mouse models of infection, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, bacterial genetics, and physiological analyses of both host cells and bacteria. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in the techniques listed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are required.
