Responsibilities

The Senior Survey Project Manager oversees multiple Project Managers and large-scale land surveying projects while serving as a strategic leader within the organization. This role partners with Market Leads and senior leadership to expand SAM’s market share, drive operational excellence, and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the surveying industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish work plans, staffing needs, and resource allocation for multiple complex land survey projects

  • Oversee the development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC procedures

  • Identify, plan, and implement processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and project delivery

  • Review performance data, including financials, budgets, and productivity reports, to monitor progress and ensure profitability

  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and technical staff to maximize team performance and professional growth

  • Prepare RFQs, fee proposals, and other business development documentation

  • Collaborate with Market Leads and Market Managers to create strategies for expanding client relationships and market presence

  • Develop and deliver presentations to clients, agencies, and key stakeholders

  • Foster strong relationships with sub-consultants, partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless collaboration

  • Provide leadership support to other operational units as needed

  • Represent SAM at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows



Qualifications



  • 7+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
  • Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
  • Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale land survey projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to manage multiple registered surveyors, technicians and field crews to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
  • Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, and networking
  • Successful experience in contract negotiations, budgets, and fee estimates
  • Professional License preferred
