Job Description

Role Summary

The VP Global Deal Desk is a key strategic leader responsible for driving global deal governance, commercial excellence, and operational alignment across all regions. This role ensures that enterprise-wide sales transactions are executed in accordance with corporate strategy, financial standards, and contractual policies, while enabling scalable growth and regional agility.

This leader will shape and execute the global Deal Desk strategy, harmonizing regional operations with global priorities. They will lead a high-performing team, foster cross-functional collaboration, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Recognition. The role is pivotal in optimizing the quote-to-close lifecycle, mitigating risk, and accelerating deal velocity across the global enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Leadership & Strategic Alignment

  • Lead and mentor regional Deal Desk teams, ensuring consistent execution of global policies while enabling regional flexibility.
  • Align regional deal desk operations with global commercial strategy, revenue goals, and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with global and regional executives to support strategic deal reviews, forecast accuracy, and pipeline health.

2. Enterprise Deal Governance

  • Own the global Deal Approval Request (DAR) framework, ensuring high-quality submissions that reflect strategic intent and financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Finance and Global Revenue Recognition to ensure compliance with ASC606/IFRS15 across all regions.
  • Drive global visibility into deal prioritization, risk exposure, and carve-outs to support executive decision-making.

3. Commercial Strategy & Agreement Oversight

  • Serve as a global advisor on deal structuring, pricing strategy, and commercial terms to optimize revenue outcomes.
  • Ensure all commercial agreements adhere to global standards and pre-approved fallback clauses, while enabling region-specific adaptations.
  • Lead negotiations on alternate terms in collaboration with Legal and Finance, ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation.

4. Cross-functional Global Collaboration

  • Act as the global liaison between Deal Desk and Sales, Presales, Product, Partner Management, and Global Operations.
  • Provide strategic insights into deal dependencies, risks, and opportunities to support global planning and execution.
  • Influence global go-to-market strategies through deal analytics and commercial feedback loops.

5. Process Innovation & Strategic Enablement

  • Champion global process improvements to enhance deal velocity, governance, and customer experience.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize tools, templates, and workflows across regions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in deal desk operations through data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback.

  • Salary Range:  $200,000-$230,000 + up to 30% bonus

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, or Commercial Strategy within a global SaaS/software organization.
  • Proven leadership in a matrixed, multinational environment with global operational accountability.
  • Deep expertise in software licensing models (SaaS, subscription, perpetual) and revenue recognition standards (ASC606, IFRS15).
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating complex agreements across regions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM/CPQ systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Agile, strategic mindset with the ability to lead transformation initiatives across geographies.
  • Multilingual capabilities preferred based on global scope (e.g., German, French, Japanese, Arabic, etc.).
