General Description

The Vendor Risk Analyst, (or VRA) is responsible for analyzing the initial risk engagement requests to ascertain that it was answered correctly, in accordance with the scope of service included in the contract. Also to ensure that all required subject matter experts participate in the risk assessment process, as applicable. The VRA role will also serve as the main liaison between the Engagement Owners (EO)/Business Units and all the subject matter experts involved in the process to ensure the timely execution of the risk assessment and avoid any unnecessary delays. This position will report to the Vendor Risk Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the timely execution of the onboarding risk engagement requests process in Ariba.
• Evaluate the risk engagement requests for quality purposes and provide assistance as needed to ensure risks are adequately analyzed and addressed.
• Validate and confirm the subject matter experts within Popular that need to participate in the risk assessment and due diligence process.
• Serve as main liaison between the Engagement Owners/Business Units and the subject matter experts performing due diligence in the risk assessment process to ensure timely execution.
• Provide subject matter expertise related to vendor risk assessment to the Engagement Owners and their business units.
• Provide suggestions, create efficiencies, and identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve the vendor risk process.
• Assist Engagement Owners and Subject Matter experts with the Risk Module in Ariba.
• Support SS&P special projects, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree completed from an accredited university or college, preferrable concentration degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Experience

Preferably three years of related experience in vendor management, internal or external audit and or compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's)

• Knowledge of Risk Management concepts and methodologies.
• Strong conflict resolution abilities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work according to regulatory requirements.
• Ability to monitor compliance with policy, procedures, and processes.
• Leadership and people skills.
• Ability to establish strong relationships with business unit stakeholders (EO’s and others) and become their trusted advisor.
• Very strong business writing and verbal communication (and presentation) skills; in both Spanish and English.
• Customer service oriented.
• Results oriented with sound decision making ability.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intermediate (Advanced is preferred) in the use of Office 365 Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Power BI.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to design and provide training to users.
