Position Summary
Portland State University is recruiting for a Project Coordinator for its National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Traineeship (NRT) Research and Education for Cascading Hazards And Resilient Group Engagement (RECHARGE) graduate program. This position serves as a liaison between students, faculty and staff, participating departments and colleges, and partner organizations. The Coordinator will work under the general supervision of the PI. Directed activities will include networking between PI and core participants, other faculty participants, PSU administration, and external partners; coordinating and organizing all aspects of the project including: course development, recruiting, advertising, budgeting, communication, evaluation of applications, assisting faculty advisors, progress tracking, program evaluation, logistics, record keeping, report writing, data analysis, archiving and backing up of data, coordinating and scheduling, and other aspects of the project as they arise. Frequent, well-organized, detailed, and transparent communication is expected.
This position is .5 FTE.
Minimum Qualifications
? Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years in higher education
? Prior experience with project management and public outreach.
? Professional skills, experience, and/or willingness to engage in activities that would enhance our campus equity and inclusion efforts in alignment the PSU President’s strategic priority of Acting on Equity and Racial Justice.
? Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, close attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
? The ability to be self-directed, flexible, proactive, think creatively, and work as a part of an administrative team.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps
Preferred Qualifications
? Experience working with Graduate Employees
? Knowledge of Slate, Banner, and Cognos

Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will be between $59,352 and $68,655 at 1.0 FTE ($2473-$2860.63/mo at .5 FTE) but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
