Laboratory Manager



We are seeking a full-time lab manager to manage our wet lab and assist in multiplexed biomarker assay development for tumor microenvironment and systems immunology studies. The scope of work includes 1. all duties associated with lab maintenance and upkeep; 2. Immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy of cells and tissue samples; 3. assay design and development, testing, quality control, validation, and application to basic, preclinical and clinical studies.

Primary responsibilities include 1. Managing the lab (managing daily laboratory operations, maintaining and adapting scientific equipment to experimental needs; maintaining lab inventory, training students, and ordering supplies; ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations for waste disposal); 2. developing standardized antibody labeling protocols for highly multiplexed immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry assays and microscopy; 3. preparing spatial transcriptomic and single-cell RNA-seq samples; 4. cell culture work for research studies; 5. Molecular biology assays (PCR, CRISPR, Western Blots, etc.).

Minimum requirements: master's degree or bachelor's with two years' experience. Degree focus in biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Pathology, or a related field is preferred.

A master's degree with 2 years of experience in the above-mentioned fields is preferred.


Job Summary

Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Collaborates on routine projects and procedures. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions.


Essential Functions

Multicycle antibody labeling, quality control, testing, and validation. Microscopy and data analysis. Cell culture and molecular and cellular biology techniques. Managing daily lab operations, lab equipment, inventory, and ordering.

Fluorescence microscopy experience is a must.


Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
